Four Sections

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award

“There are four main sections of a DofE programme; Volunteering, Physical, Skills, and Expedition. At Gold participants will also complete a Residential section.

Below, find the requirements for each section, including information on what activities count and how long to do them.”

Skill Section

Learning a skill will broaden your understanding and increase expertise in a chosen skill. You can also learn a new skill and add it to your toolbox! We have a variety of skills on offer in our Hub.

Physical Section

For your physical section you choose a sport, fitness, dance… – anything that requires you to move and get active! You can find lots of options in our Hub, many of them with videos to follow along!

Volunteering Section

It needs to be something you do without getting paid for it. In our Hub you can find ideas and modules. We also provide guidance on Volunteering Section ideas with practical advice, health and safety considerations.

Expedition Section

How exciting is the thought to go on an expedition! But before you head out, you will need to plan, train and be confident. We offer some modules on exactly that! You can also contact us for more information/ guidance.

TESTIMONIALS

What Our Students Say

“The chess course was very interesting and fun, it helped me overcame many obstacles. It is a useful skill and I have developed my technique a lot, hope to continue to play chess and keep beating my friends!”

“I loved the range of recipes on the distance learning hub and how you could adapt them to what you had in the cupboard. My family and neighbours loved the flourless cake!! The support I received was really helpful.”
