In this week’s Team Member Spotlight post, we had a Q&A with Kayleigh about her Ambassador and Social Media Assistant roles that she has with our Association.
Q: Hi Kayleigh, it’s lovely to meet you and chat with you today, we were wondering what you enjoy the most about being the Association’s Ambassador?
“I really like seeing our young people develop throughout the projects they are working on whether this is part of their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award or our Starfish Way activities, I love creating social media content which showcases specific days and how this can inspire our young people to do good within society and finally I especially love to share my experiences and passion about how much Duke of Edinburgh has had an impact on me since starting this incredible journey when I was a Silver Award participant to now where I am lucky enough to give something back to the Association that supported me from Day 1 of this amazing experience through my ambassador role.”

Q: You have been on a fantastic journey Kayleigh and you should be proud of your achievements. How do you feel the help that you give to our Association benefits other young people?
“I feel I advocate for all young people regardless of their abilities and capabilities, I have shown our young people that they can achieve amazing things and do anything if they push boundaries and work their absolute hardest to get to where they want to be.
It’s very special that I started this wonderful experience as a Duke of Edinburgh participant and I now work for my local Association, I never thought that is where this brilliant journey would lead me but it shows you that you never know what doors The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award could open for you and I hope through my roles I inspire others to do what I have done.”
