We offer many awards in our Starfish Way program – one is the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. In our program young people participate in a wide range of activities which help to develop their teamworking skills which is progressed when they participate in our expeditions and unique volunteering projects. These shared experiences allow our participants to collaborate with each other during tasks, supporting each other through setbacks and challenges and as a result build friendships through the power of teamwork.

It provides opportunities for our inspiring young people to engage within activities that they are passionate about, whether this is based on volunteering for a charity that is important to them, exploring a new skill they haven’t tried before, taking part in a physical activity or heading out on an expedition somewhere where they have always wanted to see. The shared interest and movement towards the same common goal will create a stronger foundation for friendships during DofE and our Starfish Way programme.
Our programmes promote the development of essential social skills, whether this is communication, empathy and active listening. These soft skills are vital for forming and keeping strong friendships during and after your DofE journeys. If you are thinking of doing your DofE or any other Award, get in touch with us to see what we can offer you.
